U10 Tournament

After a year break due to covid, it was fantastic to welcome twenty schools back to the College on Tuesday 5 October for our Under 10 football tournament.

On a changeable afternoon over 240 pupils graced the pitches in front of the Barry buildings putting on a wonderful display of football. The teams were split into six groups of four and played a round robin format to determine the placings to qualify for the Cup, Plate or Bowl competitions. Within each group there was a mixture of primary and preparatory schools and it was fantastic to watch all schools play new opponents and challenge each other during the ten minute games.

After the first round of group games the tournament split into three competitions, where teams played in another round robin group with the winners of those groups reaching the finals. The cup final saw hosts Dulwich face Newton Prep in a tight game with Dulwich running out cup winners after a strong start. The plate final saw DPL face Eaton House in a thrilling game, where Eaton House’s dogged defending saw them take home the plate. The bowl final was also another very tight affair with St Cyprians and Cothill House unable to be separated in normal time before Cothill won the game and bowl on penalties.

Thank you to all schools who attended, it is always an amazing afternoon of football and great to catch up with many friends and see so many pupils enjoying themselves playing such positive football after the year hiatus.
