Successful season for the College 1st XV

The 1st XV led the way for an extremely successful Michaelmas term of Rugby at the College. Thirty-one teams, playing over 260 fixtures, with over 600 boys playing competitive fixtures on a Saturday indicates the current strength and breadth of Rugby at the College. We are very proud of each and every boy who represents the College on a Saturday and delighted to offer all the opportunity to play.

The 1st XV won nine of their twelve fixtures, with a close loss coming against Wellington, alongside last minute defeats to Whitgift, and to Hampton in the Champions Trophy. We can be extremely proud of their efforts across the term including strong victories over Harrow, Brighton, Epsom, Eton, Bedford, John Fisher, Tonbridge, St Pauls and Hampton whilst also losing out Millfield in the semi-final of the St Joseph’s festival. For their efforts they finished 3rd in the Daily Mail Trophy merit table- an excellent achievement.
