Dulwich College 5th XI vs  St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U16B
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

Dulwich 5th XI notched their first win of the season with a determined performance away at St John's School, Leatherhead.

On what was a cold, drizzly Saturday afternoon, both sides took a while to get going, with neither side being able to retain possession for long. DC, however, eventually wrested control of the midfield battle, and began moving their opposition around nicely. Chances were few and far between though, and after a strong penalty shout for the away side was turned down, the teams headed in to half-time deadlocked at 0-0.

Dulwich dominated proceedings in the second half, and were rewarded for their efforts with a penalty after Kam Nimoh was bundled over 15 minutes in. Jamie Keith coolly converted, and Dulwich were able to tack on ten minutes later, with Matt Kavanagh adding a well-deserved second. With the home team now pouring forward in search of a lifeline, DC created several more chances on the break, but were unable to add to their tally before the final whistle.

DC should be pleased with a win away from friendly confines, but will rightly think the result could have been far more comfortable. Next up, City of London School, at home on Wednesday.
