Dulwich College 5th XI vs  Hampton School Boys-U16B
On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

On a bright, chilly Saturday, the Dulwich College 5th XI kicked off their season with a tough away fixture against Hampton U18Ds.

Having only had one brief Games session in preparation, the boys spent the first 20 minutes finding their feet and becoming used to new teammates, during which the home team scored four unanswered goals. After settling down, however, Dulwich began to string their passes together nicely and started imposing themselves on the opposition in the final few minutes of the first period, albeit with no reward.

DC's hard work paid off early in the second half after a fine cross from Harry Clark was neatly headed home by Lucas Pattinson. Unfortunately though, as Dulwich threatened to climb even further back into the tie, Hampton scraped another two goals to restore their cushion, and put the game to bed.

All in all, it was an encouraging start from the team, with many positives to build on going into their next fixture -- vs St John's School, Leatherhead.
