Foreshore Festival – On September 23 Dulwich College Boat Club hosted “Have a Go Row”, the DCBCA organised a BBQ and we welcomed the family and friends of our 140 members. As part of the event 14 Dulwich College and four Sydenham rowers were invited to row the Queen’s barge Gloriana. The Master, Mr Scarisbrick and coaching staff were guests of the Gloriana, learning of its recent history and elaborate design. The event provided a great fundraising opportunity for the DCBCA, the money will go towards the purchase of a new VIII later in the year.

Wallingford Long Distance Sculls – A new event in the DCBC calendar, the seniors raced in two divisions over a 4300m technical course. Racing in singles and doubles is a new concept for many of the rowers, with some never having raced without a cox. While there were no notable finish positions, the event provided a plethora of learning opportunity with many using the second division to finesse their race plan. It was great to have a race and base performance so early in the Head season, the senior rowers now look towards Pairs Head on October 14.
